Archive.

I have over 300k in photos since I started in 2005, almost 20 years ago and I keep taking more.

What if I dug into my archive and started to share that with you? I think I just might.

Someone saw me looking at photos on my phone one day and was in awe of how curated they were and that I had them all organized into folders. That’s me, I am an organizer and a planner, a dreamer too. The combo makes me a pretty good artist, I think.

I want to share the journey with you.

This is a shoot I did with a brand called Snkr Box. Jason and I met at World Mastercard Fashion week and he charmed me into shooting for him. I say charmed because he never paid me, not for the rental of the gear, not for my time and not for my images.

So sometimes you will see someone’s social media feed full of amazing images and each one of those has a story, I can guarantee it.

This is just one of mine.

Vancouver Mural Festival Block Party, this weekend!

Vancouver Mural Festival is hosting a mini-market this weekend at Main and 5th, just behind the hotel.

Guess who will be there as a vendor with her merch on Sunday 10-3? Me!

Want to know what I will have there? Stop by and see me in person, the rest of the summer I will be selling in person only so keep an eye on my blog for my pop-up information. There are three more to go over the next few months. Keep an eye on my Instagram too, there will be information popping up in my stories.

I will have up-cycled clothing featuring my illustrations, pins, stickers and goody bags too.

Square payment is available.

This block party is featuring one of the biggest mural projects the festival has created to date.

You can find out more about it here

Popping Up

Wow, I had my first official pop-up market last Sunday and am now in 3 more this summer.

I am so impressed with my interactions with everyone that I want to do this again, and again!

It sure beats tailgating on the yard sales in my neighbourhood and popping up at the beach or on the sidewalk. Having an organized venue and event is the bee’s knees and I’m smitten!

Starting with June 26 at the Vancouver Mural Festival.

The next one is the Wayfarer Market and a group design show at a Gallery.

I will definitely be sharing all of the details here. I would love to see your face so please stop by.

Strip payment is available and everything is $25 or 2 for $40 with a variety of pins and stickers too.

At any age.

Worked with an amazing friend who just happens to be a model this past week in the studio with another friend who is an amazing make-up artist. I feel so blessed to be surrounded by so many amazing women. I know I am overusing the word amazing but it is truly how I feel.

Deb Braun and Maxine Munson I am so grateful to have you both in my life.

We wanted to do a creative photoshoot that featured something out of the ordinary that we don’t see very often. We are now seeing more diversity in campaigns but we are still a far stretch from where we need to be. This series is a way to pave that road and the three of us all contributed to creating these images which is another way to give a nod to where we want to see the industry go. We want to see and feel the intention and collaboration in the creation. I hope you can see and feel that with this series.

This week, we discovered Reels.

Ok, so maybe I’m new to this and maybe I am not even doing it right but I have been making reels.

This week I concentrated on making BTS reels. People often ask about how a shoot comes together and I hope these little vignettes give you some idea of how it’s possible.

The only thing I wish Instagram would do is enable you to export them so I can share them here too.

A post without images is just kinda meh, so here’s a collection from one of the reels I made of Victoria, shot in the studio at Doris with the amazing Lexi styling the whole thing adding in her handmade jewelry too.

Vogue Italia and a Skill Share course

It has been a busy week here at Chez Flinn. Marketing emails have been going out. We celebrated our 9th Vogue publication and are putting the finishing touches on our first SkillShare course of 2022.

We also had an amazing studio shoot with a textile artist, thanks to Doris Land and Ronnie for such a fun shoot.

The new year is off to a big start and I have got some big goals for this year.

What are some of yours?
