Jordan in Denue.

Sometimes you find someone you just really click with and I found that with Jordan, we shoot every once in a while and when we do we always have a great time.

This spread is for Denue published in Issue 9 of Vigour Magazine in January, you can grab a copy here.

Denue is a denim reseller based in Toronto, you should check them out.

Denim and Denue

I love Denim, if you have been here for a while you will know that too.

So when I had the idea to reach out to a friend in Toronto who is reselling vintage denim I didn’t hesitate because Justin loves Denim as much as I do. Denue is his side hustle and I think it’s very cool.

We created these images on a rainy day in December inside my 60-year-old apartment building and Justin put together these mock-ups with dreams of them becoming billboards one day. I love them and I can’t wait to see what he is going to do with this company. In the meantime, I am grateful to be on the ground floor of the creative stage.

Special thanks to Home Team Models for being a part of this creative, John and Cheyenne were so fun to work with and the denim looks great on them.

You know how much I love Denim right?

Well, I decided to put together a shoot featuring a couple of my favourite pairs. A pair of APC vintage dark dye denim that has been repaired many times and a pair of Golden from way back that no longer have knees. I haven’t had to mend them yet but they are on the verge.

This spread is featuring two models from Home Team Models, John and Cheyenne floating around my building because it was way too rainy to shoot outside. My building is over 60 years old and I think you can tell from the decor.

Thanks, Selin Mag Issue 35 Vol 47.

Denim, a continued obsession.

If you know me, you know I am obsessed with denim. The history of it, the look and feel of it and having a pair that feels like you never want to take them off.

I found a pair recently, a pair that probably should have been thrown to the landfill, instead I resurrected them and made a story about it.

Do you have any denim stories you want to share? I would love to hear them.

Free Admission, my up-cycled denim line in studio and in print.

Huge thanks to Roll Up Magazine Issue #28 Volume 3 for printing this spread of my images in the studio.

We had a great team to pull this shoot together and without them, none of this would be possible.

This line is constructed of Levi’s I picked up from a thrift store in the Summer of 2022. 100 pairs for $1 each. I did embroider some and silk screened on others and when my hands got sore I started to pull them apart and figure out how to make other pieces of clothing out of them. I mined a heap of patterns from Pinterest, printed them, pieced them together and then started to cut and sew the denim. I broke many needles and stabbed myself many times with pins and when I was at a loss as to how to make something I had an idea for Samantha was there to help. I have so much gratitude for everyone who helped me bring this to life.

A collection of 18 outfits hit the runway on May 21, and it was a blast.

Alex in my designs.

One of the amazing things I get to do is work with people I love working with on a regular basis.

Alex and I connected a few years back and have been making magic together ever since,

For this shoot, I used my up-cycled designs and we shot in the studio.

The editorial was featured in Issue 28, Volume 16 of Selin magazine and it’s called Alex in Design.
