I made some BIG Drawings.

We are all swimming around in the COVID lockdown and I have been doing my best to stay productive. Staying productive for me means making art, it’s a way I keep the butterflies inside going and also keeps my practice going. I realize having this practice and keeping the butterflies going means I can look back at the steps I made and feel a sense of accomplishment.

I decided to turn this wall in my studio into a kind of easel. I visited virtually with a friend recently and I saw this perfect wall that divided her kitchen and living room. I thought, why not paint a giant mural on it. I only thought it through, then I considered how I can do that myself at home. So I did.

I used an old roll of backdrop paper and a pencil to draw a few of my favourite drawings. I got out my phone and decided to record drawing over the pencil with a marker. The one I liked the best is made by On The Run, Soul Tip in black, you have to squeeze the whole time, I had to stop a few times and take a rest. I like the smoothness of the line, I just need to work out a way to make it a bit smaller.

I got some great feedback from ‘going big’ and have someone who wants to purchase the first one.

I will keep you posted on my progress and the new home this drawing is going too.
