Denim, a continued obsession.

If you know me, you know I am obsessed with denim. The history of it, the look and feel of it and having a pair that feels like you never want to take them off.

I found a pair recently, a pair that probably should have been thrown to the landfill, instead I resurrected them and made a story about it.

Do you have any denim stories you want to share? I would love to hear them.

‘Part of our ongoing collaboration with local artist Deanna Flinn. Her illustration of a classic boombox in blue ink looks amazing on these made in Canada – 50/50 Ring Spun Poly/Cotton mustard tees.

Hand-screen printed and designed in Vancouver, Canada.’

Product photography.

I had the wonderful opportunity to work with Barter Design and Stooludio.

I have been venturing into creating product photography and shooting e-comm and I am thrilled with the results.

Stay tuned to my Instagram feed for my posts featuring these images. I am working on a website update too.

Magic in a home shoot.

Someone gave me this amazing idea to shoot a model at their home. I have been reaching out to my peers asking how I can move forward with my work and this was one idea I was glad to execute. It has given me so many great opportunities to connect to models I have worked with in the studio. I asked a select few if they would be open to an at-home shoot and they were more than happy to oblige.

I am in love with the results and special thanks to Ethan, Victoria and Ronnie for welcoming me into your homes. The results speak for themselves, special thanks to Ronnie’s partner who agreed to also pose for me. Ronnie is a textile artist and their work can be found to purchase here.

Party on the Pavement. April 2

It’s that time of year again and I am hoping to make this an annual event.

Please come by if you are in the neighbourhood on April 2, 1-3 pm, at Jim Deva Plaza at Davie and Bute.

This is my third neighbourhood small grant and I would love to see you there. Special thanks and a big shout out to Gordon Neighbourhood House for continuing the opportunity for Neighbourhood Small Grants.

So come on by, grab a piece of chalk and draw on the pavement with me.

While you are at it say Hi to a new friend.

Women in Art online exhibition.

So thrilled to be a part of this online exhibition with the Abbotsford Arts Council for the second year in a row.

Catch it before it is gone.

I was also featured in The Luupe’s Instagram feed. They did a call out for self-portraits of their members so I submitted. This group is an amazing one for women working in commercial photography and I am so proud to be featured.

Remember that book I spoke about in my last post? The one I said is inspiring me, the author writes a weekly blog and I wanted to share it with you. It is so good!
