One of the amazing things I get to do is work with people I love working with on a regular basis.

Alex and I connected a few years back and have been making magic together ever since,

For this shoot, I used my up-cycled designs and we shot in the studio.

The editorial was featured in Issue 28, Volume 16 of Selin magazine and it’s called Alex in Design.

Last summer I got my hand on 100 pairs of vintage Levi’s for $1 each and I got to work.

I started to embroider them and silk screen them too.

Then my hands got sore and the piles of denim weren’t shrinking so I thought about what I could do with them. I started to take the pants apart and decides to make clothing with the pieces. I found patterns on Pinterest and started sewing. A lot less labour-intensive for my hands and I had a lot of fun. This project kept me busy for the first two months of the year and now I have an opportunity to show the entire collection in a fashion show in April.

I have been working on a long term photo project since 2021. . Recently over coffee with a friend I figured out the goal behind it. I finally named it. Originally I was giving myself the goal of taking photos everyday and then I thought about the place photography has in my life, how it makes me feel. . I knew what I wanted the viewer to feel when they see the series. . You know that feeling of peace when you are in a room with someone and you don’t speak. The silence becomes a comfort that you may not share with anyone else. . Alone together in a room. . . . These images are a collection of iPhone photos and may not make the final cut. I have been working on a long term photo project since 2021. This is one of the images I submitted to the Italian Vogue - Photo Vogue portal and it was accepted. . I submit every week by staying up past 11 on Sunday, the submission portal is only open for a few hours each week. I plan my submissions and keep an active folder on my desktop. I just found these in my archives. . I just checked my entire feed on instagram and they were never posted. They were published in Vigour magazine, in print, I have the copy. . March 2015, shot in Toronto in my home studio. I lived above an Italian restaurant at Yonge and Eglington. The space was huge and I had a skylight. I could hear the people at the restaurant sing happy birthday. It was adorable. . This editorial was created with @tmesseng and edited by @kehli_g our MUA was Erica who doesn’t have social media anymore. . I feel pretty lucky to still be doing this a decade later and I intend on continuing into the next one and the next. I love my job. I see the world through a lens, I have since I was 12 and my stepfather gave me my first camera.
