Collaborations and a finished mural

Don’t you love a good collaboration? Especially around the holidays?

In this post, I have two and I’m chuffed about both.

This is my third with The Hive Printing and I couldn’t be happier with the result. This is a drawing of a vintage Rolliecord twin lens reflex camera made in Germany in the 1930s & 1970s. This 100% cotton blue T is screened with grey ink. Machine wash, hang dry to extend the life of the T and the screen.

This is my third collaboration with The Hive Printing you can check out all of their fabulous T’s in their Etsy shop. I created a collage of drawings featuring my vintage camera collection and it was screened on a beautiful burgundy T with grey ink. The second is a black T featuring a white continuous line of a Moto Guzzi motorcycle. Perfect for your motorcycle lover on your Christmas gift list.

Now let’s talk about the second collaboration, you can see photos of it below.

Here is the description of the project done in partnership with Gordon Neighbourhood House in Vancouver’s beautiful West End.

'The people in your neighbourhood' is a 7.5' x 3' 5 - panel mural created by Deanna Flinn.

Deanna Flinn is a multidisciplinary artist living in the West End and has called Vancouver home for over 15 years. Deanna began taking photos at age 12, is an editorial and portrait photographer, and in 2010 started using her photos as inspiration for her continuous line drawings. Recently she has translated her work into murals and community-engaged art installations. @freeadmission

Deanna collected drawings from 46 West End residents to create this mural. Deanna asked them to draw their self-portraits with 1 continuous line, with their eyes closed. Each person hesitated at first, then kindly obliged giggling the whole time. Deanna projected those drawings onto painted plywood panels creating this 5 - panel mural to celebrate the people in this beautiful West End neighborhood.

The drawings were collected at a safe social distance or electronically to support the current restrictions COVID 19 has brought to the neighbourhood.

This project was created to celebrate the community here in the West End and bring some joy to your day, we are all in this together.

Enjoy!

So that wraps up these two beautiful collaborations, more to come. Stay tuned and please stay safe out there.
